Back pain is one of the most common conditions we treat. Whether it is due to an acute injury, caused by awkward lifting or digging your vegetable plot or brought on by hours in front of the computer or in the car, osteopathy may be able to help. Through careful examination and a detailed case history we will be able to diagnose and advise you about appropriate treatment.
Many of our patients decide to take a more proactive approach, especially if they have had chronic back pain, and pop in for a regular 'maintenance' treatment, to minimise the risk of acute episodes. Our Osteopaths are always happy to discuss and advise you as what is the most effective treatment for you.
Neck, shoulder and arm pain is another very common complaint we see in clinic. Whether the problem is acute or chronic, caused by poor posture or injury on the rugby field, osteopathic treatment can be very beneficial. We are always very happy to help with postural advice, give simple exercises in order to ensure quick return to normal activities.
We are also happy to treat hips, pelvis, knee and ankle problems. During your initial consultation we use our knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics in order to work out what is causing your pain. This makes osteopathy suitable for all age, for sports injuries, postural problems and the management of chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis.
We use techniques such as soft tissue manipulation (similar to massage), joint articulation (encouraging better function of joints), and joint manipulation. We will develop a treatment programme which is suitable for your particular problem.
If you are in doubt whether osteopathy is for you, please give us a ring or pop in; we are always more than happy to discuss any queries you may have!
